ERIE, Pa. (AP) — The attorney for a former Boy Scouts volunteer denies the man fondled two northwestern Pennsylvania boys and showed them pornography.
Defense attorney Alison Scarpitti says 53-year-old Timothy McFarland, of Millcreek Township, "denies all of the allegations. He really can't speculate at this point in time as to what would make the children make these allegations, but he certainly did not act inappropriately toward either one."
Township police have charged McFarland with indecent assault, corruption of minors and other crimes for allegedly fondling the boys' nipples and buttocks and showing them pornographic materials since 2011. One boy 11 or 12 at the time, while the other was 13 or 14.
The French Creek Council of the Boy Scouts of America says McFarland has been permanently removed from the program after officials first learned of the allegations months ago.
