WELLSBORO, Pa. (AP) — A woman has been ordered to stand trial in the killing of an elderly central Pennsylvania man in a botched robbery last fall that also left his wife seriously hurt.
Investigators say 82-year-old Oliver Litzelman was shot to death at his home in Liberty Township, Tioga County. His 81-year-old wife, Edwina, suffered three broken ribs in the attack.
Fifty-seven-year-old Debra Lockett of Morris Township is charged in the Sept. 13 incident.
Prosecutors said Lockett went to the couple's home claiming she was a Litzelman descendant and doing genealogy work. After being invited inside, police said Lockett announced a robbery and Oliver Litzelman was killed in an ensuing scuffle.
Edwina Litzelman testified at Tuesday's preliminary hearing that Lockett killed her husband when he refused to hand over any cash.
